Charting the Political Economy [a.k.a. Dan Leahy’s Book of Charts] (2019)
Dan started teaching in the Masters of Public Administration (MPA) program at The Evergreen State College in the fall of 1984. Almost simultaneously, he began creating a Labor Education and Research Center at the College. As a way to research and study relationships, Dan developed a method of analysis that “charts” information. “I asked questions, tried to fill out the vertical and horizontal columns, and looked for relationships across time. These charts became the basis of many of my talks in Evergreen classes or in front of unionized workers. It was my way of using the past to look for future organizing opportunities for the working class.” From Dan’s introduction to Charting the Political Economy, a collection of charts organized into ten sections.
